Job Title                        Shift Supervisor

Department:                  Lacquer

Direct Manager:            Packaging Supervisor

 

Mission

Manage People, initiate and manage change, develop projects through startup and turn over to Operations personnel. Develop employees according to “Coty Core Competencies”.  Provide products in the bulk production  according to quality standards proper planning, people, materials and design are reliable, cost effective and safe for all processing.  Provide products conditioning for their shift according to quality standards and determined planning, at the foreseen costs and ensuring people and goods safety of his/her Shift.  This role is currently assigned to second shift but shift may change depending on the needs of the business.

 

 Functions

 

  • Manage and deliver the Daily Schedule. Improve the efficiency and productivity of the Shift; implement a continuous improvement of the equipment and the organization. Respect and implement action plans when required by GCM audit.
  • Drive all necessary action plans to utilize available inventories (Components, FG, WIP and etc.) for completing all designated assignments for his/her shift.
  • Is accountable for completing designated assignments for “his/her” shift and respect 100% adherence to the Daily Schedule  as agreed with planning through a perfect mastery of Global Process Reliability performance.
  • Provide finished goods according to the quality system and specifications. Respect and implement action plans required by quality audit and lines certification program.
  • Ensure that all the investments needed according to the Operations strategy are presented and if approved implemented to guarantee total compliance with the Safety and Environmental legal requirements, as well as to optimize the cost and the efficiency.
  • Provide up to the minute status of the operation as it relates to current jobs, next setup and any open action items requiring follow up to complete and sustain shift to shift flow.

KNOWLEDGE / ATTITUDES / SKILLS:  

KNOWLEDGE

Production/engineering:

  • Deep understanding of Production Processes.
  • Good knowledge in packaging equipment, utilities and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Possess budget management knowledge.
  • Performs root cause analysis to achieve improvements in production efficiency, reliability & quality.
  • Supports plant project activities and manages capital projects.
  • Manages suppliers, engineering service providers and contractors.
  • Assures compliance with Coty and industry engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Participates in the development of the plant site plan, capital plan and ensures practices that promote effective asset management.

  Planning/ logistics/ materials / NPD:

  • Basic Understanding of Chapter 4 of GCM, basically regarding Production Cycle and NPD Process, where he/she should participate in some phases technical (QA / IC):
  • Perfect knowledge of quality standards.
  • Strong Knowledge of the QA Guidelines is needed as well as the local regulations regarding Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Knowledge of TQM methodology and process management.

  Support (Controlling / HR / IT):

  •  Knowledge on TQM basics.

    SKILLS:

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Teamwork inside the Shift together with Department Director and Process Engineer is crucial for shift success
  • Coordinate team work according to products and activities volume
  • Delegate responsibilities ensuring priorities management and efficient resources
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency according to budgeted requirements, analyze potential possibilities, help establish action plans when requested
  • Ensure effective implementation of action plans linked to reliability bringing her/his expertise to her/his collaborators
  • Lead information and problem resolution meetings
  • Project Management & Risk Assessment
  • Basic financial skills and understanding
  • PC skills, written & verbal communication
  • Establish action plans and guarantee follow-up and efficiency

   EDUCATION:

  • Preferred BS Engineering/Business Administration
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience or a combination of education and relevant experience
