HR Business Partner (MANAGER)

Position Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), Luxury North America will provide day-to-day HR support and strategic partnership for approximately 200+ employees across the Division. The HRBP is responsible for driving key HR initiatives in areas such as change management, staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, rewards & recognition, organizational effectiveness and design, and employee communication. In addition, this person will be responsible for partnering with the broader Coty HR team on cross-functional initiatives including participation in the diversity agenda, high performance culture, organizational design & change, learning & development, employee branding, productivity standards, and statistics. The HRBP will execute at a local level HR strategies under the direction of the VP of HR Luxury North America.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and offsite HR leadership, serving as main point of contact for talent management, recruitment, learning, and employee relations issues for specified business groups under the Luxury NA Division  
  • Participate in and lead key HR initiatives including: staffing, performance management, organization planning, compensation planning, and employee development
  • Proactively consult with the business leaders on employee, managerial, organizational and business issues and work with various team members to provide effective, beneficial HR solutions to business issues
  • Participate in the ideation and organization of onsite employee events related to strategic initiatives (diversity, career pathing, pipeline programs, etc.)
  • Manage/mentor junior members of the Coty HR Luxury NA team
  • Employ budget-conscious mindset and apply creative solutions to ensure cost-effectiveness across all HR activities in liaison with Finance
  • Instill Customer Service in all HR activities with a business-focused approach

HR Policies

  • Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures when questions arise
  • Uphold and enforce the Coty Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct and advocate standardized Coty HR practice in policy implementation

Organization Design

  • Partner with senior management to review and strengthen the organizational model through various programs and projects including but not limited to: Organization Assessment and Design, Local Job Mapping consistent with Global Mapping, Alignment on Compensation practices

Employee Relations

  • In close collaboration with business leaders, ensure the creation of a working atmosphere that is in line with the Coty culture and local and Federal laws
  • Manage a high volume of employee relations inquiries and conduct investigations, where needed
  • Work with the appropriate legal resources to ensure risk mitigation

Talent Development and Performance Management

  • Effective identification and development of internal talents leveraging the Coty employee potential criteria and Performance Review process
  • Develop, sponsor, and implementation of initiatives focused on employee development opportunities: internship programs, training, internal movement
  • Work with senior management to define an annual training plan based on gaps identified during Performance Reviews and execute this plan and monitor results; ensure that training strategies meet employee skill development needs

Compensation

  • Monitor, understand, and manage the salary planning process for the assigned business areas
  • Lead the compensation planning process–Offer, Merit, Market, Promotions, and Bonus
  • Appropriate use of Country salary structures and execution of the Compensation guidelines in collaboration with Local, Global, and Executive Compensation teams

Miscellaneous

  • Immigration matters – visa, relocation, and the VIE program
  • Develop and organize the implementation of all new employees’ onboarding/induction and welcome into the organization. Including but not limited to 30,60,90 day check-in’s. 
  • Manage HR related personnel changes as needed and HRIS data validation and reporting  
  • Project Management

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advance training or education in the area of HR or general business preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years Human Resources Generalist experience and HR Technical knowledge (organizational development performance management, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, employee communication, and policy application).
  • Experience providing HR support to a varied, distributed employee population.
  • Competencies & Abilities: Team Leadership Proven ability to forge partnerships and influence internal customers and HR colleagues across Coty in a positive and productive manner. Proven ability to lead and manage a team when no direct line of authority exists. Delivers on commitments. Strongly supports the HR team’s Guiding Principles.
  • Team Commitment: Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work as an integral member of the HR team. Strong commitment to success of the team vs. individual contributor success.

  • Communications: Excellent listening, written, oral and platform communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a diverse environment.
