JOB TITLE:

Sr. Systems Engineer (Windows/VMWare)

REPORTS TO:

IT Enterprise Computing Director

LOCATION:

Core Description:

The Sr. Systems Engineer (Windows/VMWare) position provides senior level support for all of the VMWare and Windows systems in the Coty environment.  This position will provide technical support and mentoring to other members of the VMWare, and Windows support groups while working with the Team Lead to help the Enterprise Computing Manager set direction for these environments.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting and upgrades of all IT systems or component.
  • Works with the engineering teams to translate design requirements into Microsoft and VMware and cloud solutions.
  • Assists with the planning, execution, monitoring and control of all engineering project related tasks and activities.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on issues while monitoring and maintaining environment stability.
  • Documents software and system configuration.
  • Participates and assists with 24x7 support of the environment.
  • Addresses and closes technical issues reported in the team’s Remedy Force ticket queue.

 

Application Pre-Requisites:

  • Bachelor Degree in IT related field or equivalent experience
  • Must have 8 years in Information technology + 4 years of VMWare experience

 

Special Skills Required:

Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and teamwork ethics
  • Strong Multi-tasking skills and able to handle large volumes of work
  • Process Focused

 

Functional / Technical Skills:

  • VMWare vSphere and supporting products
  • Windows Server Support
  • IaaS and Cloud Knowledge a plus (AWS, Azure or Softlayer)
  • Understanding of ITIL Framework
