Geri Cusenza & John Sebastian
Los Angeles styling duo Geri Cusenza and John Sebastian had a desire to break from the hair trends of the 1960s in to more cutting edge fashions when they launched their brand in the 1970s. Sebastian was built on the principles of fearlessness and innovation in order to change the game of professional hairstyling. It began with the invention of the Crimping Iron in 1972, developed while Cusenza was working on the album cover for Barbara Streisand’s “Butterfly.” From there, the team developed groundbreaking new hairsprays, gels, and professional formulas that pushed the boundaries of what stylists could do with hair.
