We believe business plays an important role in the world.   
 
Our purpose is to, “celebrate and liberate the diversity of your beauty.” By challenging ourselves and others we can change what beauty stands for and improve the impact it has on people and the environment.

In 2018, we made progress in developing our Responsible Growth Strategy which sets out how we will grow by championing sustainable and inclusive beauty. The development of this strategy was informed by our initial materiality assessment in 2016, further internal consultation with over 900 employees across 34 countries and external stakeholder engagement. 
 
The priorities for our strategy include:
 
  • Exploring the potential of circular design in our ingredients and packaging. We are still in the process of mapping pilot programs for brands, categories and materials as well as identifying where to innovate and explore, or build new partnerships.
     
  • Inclusive Beauty:  We believe that beauty should make you feel happy and never sad and that freedom of self-expression is critical to the Beauty we want to represent through our brands and their communication.  

    As part of our focus on inclusive beauty we have launched We Stand for You - a social action program tackling prejudice and discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, disability and ethnicity. We have partnered with international advocacy group, Global Citizen, to challenge discriminatory norms, stereotypes and policies. For more information, click here.
 
We are in the process of developing our intended goals and science-based targets. These targets and impact metrics will support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (the Goals)  which address the world's most pressing social, environmental and economic challenges.
