Coty joins “Commit For Our Planet” as a pioneer

NEW YORK, DECEMBER 7, 2022 – Today, Coty Inc. (NYSE: COTY) becomes one of the first 27 Pioneer companies to join Cosmetics Europe’s “Commit for Our Planet” initiative, an unprecedented industry-wide project which aims to reduce the cosmetic sector’s environmental footprint in Europe.
Coty Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Shimei Fan said: “At Coty, our Beauty That Lasts sustainability strategy is a critical driver of our ambition to make over the world of beauty. As a leader in beauty, we must continue to push the boundaries beyond what is comfortable and expected, finding new ways to operate. That includes being bolder in our sustainability ambitions, and collaborating to move the entire industry through initiatives like Commit for Our Planet.”
The initiative encourages all cosmetics and personal care companies to take part in a joint industry effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve packaging solutions and act for nature. The initiative includes specific commitments within the three themes of climate, packaging and nature, which will help drive progress across the full value chain. These areas are central to cosmetics companies’ operations, ensuring the industry can make the most progress towards optimizing sustainable production and consumption of goods.
