Wella Professionals recently announced the appointment of Andreas Kurkowitz as Global Color Ambassador.
 
In his new role Kurkowitz will contribute his strong, creative talent to the development of Wella Professionals’ inspirational, seasonal color trends, alongside helping to train future generations of colorists through the Wella Professionals extensive color education program.

Andreas, what excites you most about joining the Wella Professionals team?
 
I’m honored and thrilled to be joining the Wella Professionals family.  Wella’s reputation is second to none and it’s been my go-to color since very early on in my career. Creatively, Wella embraces diversity and celebrates the expression of individuality through color, something that matches my creative style.  I am excited about the possibilities surrounding what we can create together.


 



One trend in your work is often using less color but with highly specific placement. What’s the key to making that approach work?
 
I frequently use less color, but place it strategically; where it shows, or not, for a super naturalistic result. But for clients who want a statement color, I like an approach of color worn as an accessory.
 
What’s essential for you when creating these “colored, not-colored” looks?
 
Regardless of the fashion brand I’m working with, whether it is edgy, classic, modern or other, my color work is always unique and tailored to the individual.
